Transportation Impact has been named to Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. It is the eighth consecutive year the company has earned the distinction. TI first made the list in 2013 with a ranking of 547.
Since the list began in 1982, less than a fraction of one percent have made the list eight times.
This year, “companies that made the list, on average, have grown sixfold since 2016. During a stretch when the economy grew just 15 percent, that’s a result most businesses could only dream of,” wrote Inc. editor in chief Scott Omelianuk in a congratulatory note. “The 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”

Since former UPS executives Keith Byrd and Travis Burt co-founded TI in 2008, the company has grown from 0 to 88 employees and nearly 1000 customers. Transportation Impact specializes in helping high-volume small package and freight shippers reduce the costs associated with those services.

Methodology of the Inc. 5000
The Inc. 5000 is a list of the fastest-growing private companies in the nation. The 2020 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2019. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2016. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of December 31, 2019. The minimum revenue required for 2016 is $100,000; the minimum for 2019 is $2 million.
