As we predicted in our FedEx 2024 GRI report, FedEx has announced a demand surcharge effective January 15, 2024 “until further notice.” This effectively extends fees already in place, which are applied in addition to the standard Additional Handling and Oversize fees.
The fees are as follows:
$2.00 for the AHS – Demand Surcharge
$20.00 for the Oversize – Demand Surcharge
The amounts, at least, are lower than in 2023 which at present are $3.95 for AHS and $39.50 for Oversize. However, the fees represent what is essentially a secondary rate increase on top of the 2024 GRI FedEx announced in September.
