QA Software Tester

About the Position:

We are looking for a skilled QA Software Tester with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our team at TransImpact. In this role, you will be responsible for testing software applications to ensure they work as expected. You will work closely with developers to modify and execute SQL queries, test APIs using tools like Postman, and perform integration testing. You will also be involved in designing and building test cases to ensure everything functions correctly.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and execute SQL queries to check data in the database.
  • Use Postman or similar tools to test APIs, sometimes modifying the API calls.
  • Create and design test cases, not just run them.
  • Perform integration testing to ensure different systems work together smoothly.
  • Work with Azure DevOps or GitLab to integrate test cases into build and release pipelines.
  • Test APIs and help with basic automation and 1 or more scripting or programming language (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Java).
  • Perform manual testing and work with Selenium for automation testing.
  • Ensure quality throughout the software development process, not just at the end.

Qualifications And Skills Required: 

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (BSc, MSc, BE in Computer/IT).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in QA testing.
  • Strong ability to write and run SQL queries.
  • Experience testing APIs in Postman.
  • Integrate test cases into build pipeline.
  • Ability to design and build test cases.
  • Experience with integration testing.
  • Manual testing skills.
  • Experience with Selenium for automation testing.
  • Some experience of any 1 or more scripting or programming language (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Java).
  • Experience with JIRA.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Basic understanding of programming languages like Angular, Typescript, or .NET.
  • Familiarity with Azure services.
  • Experience with contract testing.

Application Operations Engineer

About the Position: 

An Application Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and performance of software applications, primarily in a production environment.

This role typically combines both development and operations skills to software deployment, systems operation, systems monitor, support applications, monitor their performance, and handle incident management. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Deployment of applications to different environments (Quality Assurance, Alpha, Release Candidate, Production).
  • Execute automated Smoke Tests.
  • System monitoring and response time to meet SLAs.
  • Monitoring and acting on system monitor alerts.
  • Development, testing, documentation and communication of system monitor.
  • Working closely with developers to ensure that new features and applications meet operational standards.

Qualifications And Skills Required: 

  • 3+ years of experience as an Application Operations Engineer or similar role.
  • Computer Science, IT Operations or related bachelor’s degree – may be substituted for relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of application deployment strategies including CI/CD using pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Backend, Frontend and API development.
  • Experience with programming languages preferably typescript.
  • Knowledge of application hosting services. (ex. Kubernetes, NGINX, Azure App Services…)
  • Understanding of SQL databases, and database deployment strategies. (SQL Azure).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Kibana Dashboard, Site 24*7, Datadog or Azure Monitor).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly identify the root cause of application issues.
  • Good communication skills for reporting incidents, collaborating on optimizations, and presenting to team.
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle management and operational practices.

About The Position:

An AppOps (Application Operations) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and performance of software applications, primarily in a production environment. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy application service monitors in the cloud (primarily Azure)
  • System resource capacity management in Azure (create monitors, act on system resource monitors)
  • Work proactively on the performance, scalability, availability, and reliability of data-driven platform services and databases in Azure
  • Support Professional Services with new client initiation, integrations, and recurrent customer needs in the system
  • Support Product Development with application support request escalations and product releases

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 3+ years of experience as an AppOps Engineer or similar role.
  • Computer Science or related Bachelor’s degree – may be substituted for relevant work experience.
  • Experience with 1 or more programming/scripting languages (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, etc…)
  • Understanding of SQL databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL)
  • Experience in Azure with knowledge of Entra ID, IAM, and Log Analytics is plus.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (within Azure or 3rd party tools)
  • Experience monitoring at least one of the following
    • Azure Data Factory
    • Power BI/Fabric
    • CI/CD pipelines
