OnTrac Announces 2025 Peak/ Demand and Other New Surcharges
OnTrac has announced 2025 Peak/Demand surcharges effective September 27 through January 16, 2026.
This period is slightly shorter than FedEx’s announced peak season, but surcharges are set at slightly higher amounts. Unlike how FedEx’s surcharges fluctuate during the peak season, OnTrac maintains consistent amounts throughout. Note that UPS has not announced its 2025 peak surcharges, but history says they’ll likely be similar to FedEx’s.
Another point of contrast is that OnTrac's Demand Residential surcharge is applied as a flat fee rather than being tied to shipment volume. This charge is in effect from October 25 through January 16, 2026. OnTrac has also added a new Demand – Over Maximum Limits surcharge, aligning with the surcharges of FedEx/ UPS. This OnTrac surcharge did not exist in 2024.
In addition to the peak surcharges, OnTrac announced updates to its fuel tables effective October 25. With fuel currently priced at $3.713, the new table increases the surcharge from 17.75% to 19.25% on their domestic fuel, mirroring FedEx and UPS's fuel surcharge levels.
*FedEx peak charges change throughout the season (9/29/25-11/23/26, 11/24/25 - 12/28/25, 12/29/25 - 1/18/26)
