FedEx Increases Domestic Fuel Surcharges Effective November 9, 2026

FedEx announced on November 2, 2026, that it is updating its U.S. domestic fuel surcharge tables, effective November 9, 2026. The new tables raise the fuel surcharge by 1.5 percentage points at every fuel band for FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery, and FedEx Express domestic package services.

At this week’s fuel prices, the new tables raise your fuel surcharge as follows:

  • FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery: At $6.292 per gallon of diesel, the fuel surcharge rises from 29% to 30.5%.
  • FedEx Express domestic package: At $4.464 per gallon of jet fuel, the fuel surcharge rises from 32.5% to 34%.

The FedEx update comes one week after UPS raised its own domestic fuel tables on November 2, 2026. UPS announced that change alongside its 2027 General Rate Increase (GRI), raising its fuel tables by up to 0.5 percentage points for UPS Ground, UPS Ground Saver, and Domestic Air. At 1.50 points, the FedEx increase is at least three times the size of the UPS change.

Fuel is charged as a percentage of the net package transportation charge plus surcharges such as residential, delivery area surcharge (DAS), and additional handling surcharge (AHS). The more surcharges your packages carry, the bigger the base that percentage applies to, so you feel every fuel increase more.

We continue to win strong improvements on fuel discounts for our clients, and with two fuel table increases in one week, that discount deserves a hard push in your next carrier negotiation.
