Emerald Isle, N.C. (March 12, 2019) —
The 28th Annual Emerald Isle St Patrick’s Festival is proudly presented by Transportation Impact on Saturday, March 16 from 9am-6pm at the Emerald Plantation shopping center. This will mark the seventh consecutive year the Emerald Isle-based logistics spend-management firm has sponsored the annual event.
“We love Emerald Isle, which has been our home from day one, and we love being an integral part of this event that brings together everyone in the community for a day of celebration, fun, and fundraising,” said Transportation Impact Co-Founder and Partner Travis Burt.
A fixture of the Emerald Isle calendar since 1991, the celebration in honor of the Irish patron saint is always held the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day and is family friendly, with a petting zoo, amusement rides, a climbing wall, face painting, over 75 arts and crafts vendors, clowns, a great variety of food vendors, and much more. Transportation Impact is also encouraging responsible behavior with its festival slogan “Sip Smarter, Drive Less,” which is a play on the company tagline “Ship Smarter, Spend Less.”
The company’s involvement with the festival goes beyond simple financial sponsorship, with members of the TI team volunteering all day in various ways, such as pouring beer and checking IDs in the beer tent, selling T-shirts, directing traffic, and managing parking. The festival benefits the Emerald Isle Business Association and also provides a venue for non-profit associations to promote their causes and raise funds.
“It’s a great day out that our whole team enjoys being part of,” said TI Marketing Coordinator Jillian Farrington. “Those of us who have been here for several years always look forward to it. It’s so rewarding and heart-lifting to see the kids having so much fun and to deepen our connection with this community.”
