Two packages at a front door

Now you see it, now you don’t. FedEx has announced that effective November 1st the carrier will again be suspending its Money-Back Guarantee Waiver for a number of its services. This decision will impact Express services through January 16, 2022, but notably, the service guarantee for Ground and Home Delivery will remain suspended until further notice.

You can read the full announcement here.

Companies will remember that the MBG Waiver was suspended in 2020 due to COVID. And, in 2019, FedEx only suspended the guarantee from December 18 – December 24th on Express services and December 2 – December 24th on Ground and Home Delivery services.

This announcement is just another example of how the large parcel carriers are using capacity constraints and the circumstances surrounding COVID to protect and increase their margins.
